IOP Receives Best Partnership Award from ISTAC-IIUM, Malaysia

The Institute of Oriental Philosophy (IOP) received the "Best Partnership Award" at the Takrim Day (Day of Recognition and Appreciation) held by the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC-IIUM) at the International Islamic University Malaysia on June 17, 2025. This award recognizes the IOP's engagement in academic cooperation and intercultural dialogue, honoring its contributions that have significantly enriched ISTAC's academic and research activities.

Both institutions have been advancing cooperation toward peace building through interreligious dialogue, including the implementation of "The Lotus Sutra — A Message of Peace and Harmonious Coexistence" exhibition in September 2024, holding commemorative symposiums, and conducting the joint symposium "Dialogue between Islam and Buddhism: Faith and the Essence of Human Beings" at Soka University on May 31, 2025. On the same day, they also concluded an academic exchange agreement. At the award ceremony, a commemorative shield was presented to Mr. Ryohei Tanaka, Director of the Institute of Oriental Philosophy.
